Anger Management

27 10 2011

‎”I can’t count the number of emails I wish I had not sent. I can’t remember the times when my in my anger I have uttered words that may have hurt others causing casualties to people who are nearest us in work or family.”

Wise words to remember.
Anger is only one letter away from danger. Never do email, letter or memo when you are angry. Wait 24 hours. When mad, I’ve learned that the wise thing to do is NOTHING. Wait it out.

Let the pandas soothe you :D

Back in high school, I have the shortest temper in MAJE. This often caused disagreements amongst us. I’m thankful for them who stood by me whenever my temper blew. They would cheer me up, then lecture me. XD nice bunch of friends. I’ve learned to control my anger during those times. Good thing is, I haven’t sent anyone an angry letter, yet. o_o; At least I think I haven’t… Nowadays, my temper only rises easily during uhm..those days. haha. I would ignore that person for a while until anger recedes which lasts only a few minutes. ^^;

Another thing that helped me restrain my anger from lashing out was keeping a journal. Whenever I felt like ‘torturing’ someone, I’d just write down what happened. It (sort of) released my anger. I’d feel so much better afterwards. I do write happy events/thoughts, too. :D Oh! Music and books are also effective! ^^

Motivation: What Drives You

7 12 2009

I was doing my RMA (research methods for architecture) when I have stumbled upon Francis Kong’s site.I was actually looking for the Mad Science’s site…but I needed to know who to approach when I have recalled that he is the president of FunWorks Inc.

I had listened once or twice to his talks back in my high school days and I loved them. They weren’t like those boring talks where time passes by ever so slow and wonder when this all will end.

His talks were inspiring and motivating. I remember his ever ‘favorite’ story about what he was back in high school where he and the principal were “close” (from him being an unruly student; therefore, his attention was often caught by Dr. Yu). That conference of his gave me new perspectives for the future and that being an alumna of the high school I graduated from wasn’t that bad. There are actually some perks of being an alumna of that high school. I had experienced being handled under the former principal Dr. Yu for a few years (until he had passed away… :C ) and I still think his strict guidance was excellent (though sometimes it may be a bit extreme XD) and his ever famous quote of: “quality over quantity.”

Anyway…before I delve myself more into talking about my alma mater and bore you~

I like this post of his :) good enough no longer is.
