“It was a dark and stormy night…”

New doodle of the week~!

untitled

I’m still thinking of a good title for this drawing. The other day it was Mercenary, then Not What  It Seems, then today it’s Wanted. Still not happy with the title though.

I purposely had the left side blank. I planned on writing a sentence or few, but I can’t think of anything for now, since I don’t have a title yet. Haha

Who had thought of this when they saw the title? XD

How I came up with the drawing:

I have always wanted to draw a rainy scene, but my passed attempts were total fail. ^^; It was cloudy the other day and it was chilly in the office. I suddenly had the itch attempt a rainy drawing scene. I did at a scratch paper first then proceeded to notebook.( I would show the drawing from the scratch paper here, but it’s in the office haha.)

I wanted to set the drawing in the ‘dark ages’; hence the dresses, the streetlights and the supposed cobblestone road ^^; There are some parts that I want to improve on though… like that blot on the sidewalk, the lamppost (they looked too near from each other), and the road. ^^; Oh and my signature. LOL I made mistake in my signature.. lolwhat. =))

Anyway… about the drawing:

The man is walking alone on one side of the road; the 2 females avoided him by walking to the opposite side. They thought he looked like a suspicious person. The dark clothes, the hidden face, the unknown baggage—they all scream suspicious.

But, is he really? Maybe he is a traveller—someone who just look haggard from his journey from who-knows-where. Or just a regular person who just had a rough day. We’ll never really know.

Likened to present times, it is hard to trust people nowadays. We try to keep ourselves safe by knowingly or unknowingly categorizing people by how they look whether that person is under the safe or the unsafe.

What can you say about the drawing? :)

Pens used: 2 sharpie markers (lilac and mint), and a 0.1 WG Copic multiliner for the signature and other notes. (I love this pen! It looked as if I used pencil instead ^^)

This is also the first time I drew with no pencil base drawing. :D weee~~

First Purchase

17 07 2011

Last week was my first salary from work~! :) It wasn’t big but, it was enough. I just started anyway. Maybe once I became a regular employee. :)

anyway. I have raved about the “The Little Prince” notebook the other day, and the thought of wanting one never escaped my mind. Yesterday, I finally bought one! I bought the smaller one at 995php. very expensive for a small notebook… but I had decided that IT will be my first purchase from my first salary. :D If shobe’s vice is makeups or cds; achi’s food (i think); mine is office supplies/stationery. I love buying markers, colored gel pens, felt-tip pens, pencils/mechanical pencils, and different kinds of notebooks. But, since I started college, I only buy blank or un-ruled notebooks (except for my refillable binder). Cheap un-ruled notebooks are somewhat common these days. I remember back in second year, I needed to hunt for them :) ) (my first blank notebook was from achi.)

Why bother hunt for blank notebooks when there are sketchpads? Well, I don’t prefer sketchpads because of the paper. The texture is rougher. good for charcoal, watercolor, etc., but I like smooth papers. It’s harder to erase on rough papers :p Most leave marks on them.

I lovelovelovelove the info page in case the notebook is missing: ^^

yeh.. I’m still tempted to buy the bigger notebook. In Fully Booked, they’re selling it at 1299php! 81php cheaper than National Bookstore’s. haha. As much as I want to buy it, I’m currently restraining myself from it. XD I DO want to buy it because it’s special but, I need to save cash for our (family) Korea (Busan-Seoul) trip this November, and the possible trip with MAJE next year :D so yeh… the chance of me buying that bigger notebook is 25%. need to make it to 0% haha o_o;

I love my The Little Prince notebook!!! ;) not using it yet though. hahaha I have only used less than 1/4 of my current notebook. lol

my defense/deliberation day was Feb 10, 2011; Thursday. slept the whole day the next day and missed my friends’ delibs… <_< i felt bad that i wasn't there -___-

anyway.

my first after-thesis-out-of-town-trip was to Clark (February 13, 2011 Sunday) for the 16th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Festival! :)

I had been there before, when I was reeeally young. Dad said at that time, it was prolly only the 3rd hot air balloon event. ^_-;

I was semi-surprised that we had caught traffic o_o and we arrived in clark around 5AM plusplus… then again.. it has been almost 13years since we (my family and I) had last went to the event.. it should have attracted more crowd ^^;; anyway..

I thought 13years ago was a lot more fun… air force one planes were doing pretty exhibitions… with those white smokes on their tail ends. o_o now was like… they were just flying around. lol haha

doodles

14 01 2011

I’m sortof procrastinating because I’m a tad bit …sad (can’t think of a right word of what i am feeling for now)? haha

the images below are some of sketches from the first year of college till fourth year :) Some of the drawings below are for our major subjects in college.

I used to doodle a lot ne.. back in high school, i was fond of drawing anime. I also have sketchpads that are only half-filled. =)) tsk.tsk. not doing a good job in helping the environment. I haven’t drawn anime for a long time ne… forgot when the last time i did…

main point here is the texture of the benches =)) ignore the spaghetti landscape behind XD

this is supposed to be somewhere near the Taj Mahal ^_-;;;

did this in Visual Technique 2 using only techpens. This is the San Sebastian Church :) iff you want to know what it really looks like click here ^^
